Passivity Issues

Okay okay! Before I dehiatus, I want to ramble some about me and Raenef and why I might be having some problems with him. GOOD TIMES!

And the basic problem comes down to the fact that I'm not sure how to encourage him to be more active. I don't want to push too hard, but he needs more things to get active about, and he doesn't really have them. He doesn't have skills that would encourage him to do things -- most of his magic stuff is explody or personally useful, but it's not constructively useful, and most of his non-magic stuff is being a thief and a streetrat, which is... not really something he wants or needs to use in Aather anyway.

So I need to come up with things to do with him, and I have no clue. Possibilities though?!

-- Find a mentor for some skill?!?!?!!! Maybe someone who is a ruler back home to help instruct him on how that's even supposed to work.

-- GET A HOBBY Okay, so Fafner is fun, and does let him interact with a lot of people he wouldn't normally interact with, but he really does need something to do, that he can be active with, that he can set goals, do quests, and accomplish things.

-- Become more active on the team He's gotten pretty complacent with his place as the baby of Jasper. His one outburst over the issue was with two characters who are no longer in the game, which really sets him back more than I thought it would.

-- Become more active off the team Most of his close CR right now is on Jasper itself, and that's... not always a good way to do things. I know there was a CR-meme recently, but I really need to sort things out to get him into a position of making friends who he wants to go do stuff with.

If anyone has suggestions on the matter, I'll be glad to hear them. I just... really needed to get my thoughts on this in order before I proceed because it really has been a stumbling block recently.

State of the Raenef (aka exestential crises)

On a scale of 1 to 10 of how well Raenef's doing in Aather right now, he's hitting about a 3. He's having problems right now. A lot of them have to do with his other personality. It's acerbated by the game he "missed" when Jasper bussed itself. And then his two best friends left. And he has no idea what to do.

Important Update for Raenef!

Once he takes his current skill, there are going to be some major/minor differences to his powers, aura, attributes, headdemons, etc. The initial write up is over here in his memory/skill writeup log. I may edit it later when I have the books in front of me again. For a basic rundown of things that will change:

-- "Raenef" gives him the hereditary passing down of the powers, abilities, knowledge, etc of the demon lord line. Not the skills or the knowledge, but the power and weight of a demon lord.
-- His attribute shifts immediately from "neutral" to "dark".
-- He will innately start gathering in energies. He cannot control or amplify the ability.
-- If he is attacked now, the power of the demon lord Raenef within him will act to keep him alive by exploding things that try to hurt him with undirected force. (No, he cannot control this, and it will be curbed by power cap and game dynamics.)

-- Other people who can sense such things will be able to tell the difference in his magic, power levels, and darkness attributes. Oops bebe demon lord just got really powerful and doesn't know it at all.

-- Additionally, he picked up the other parts of "Raenef" -- Raenef IV and Alter!Raenef.
(I don't think these personalities can be sensed by outsiders. At least that is my call for right now. Just a note that they are there.)

EDIT: Raenef will get very minor pings from other demonic entities. He won't recognize it as demonic, but he'll just be more interested in and attracted to those with demonic powers.

He may also be draw to dark attribute things, but still working this out.
Also still uncertain if he's able to sense "angelic" beings. Need to double check that. :|a
